PROTEGGA LLC Litigation Support Services

Litigation support is the process of providing consultation and support services to attorneys in relation to current and pending cases. The type of support services provided are dependent on the needs of each individual attorney or firm, but may include Project Management, Document Scanning, OCR Conversion, Blowbacks, Trial Graphics, Audio/Video Conversion, and other forms of Technical Consulting.

PROTEGGA provides additional Litigation Support services to compliment our Computer Forensics, e-Discovery, and Data Recovery offerings. For example:

Project Management
Prior to starting a litigation support, electronic discovery, or computer forensics project, PROTEGGA develops a complete understanding of your needs. Once the project requirements are defined, PROTEGGA is able to develop a plan, cost estimates, and a schedule to meet these requirements. PROTEGGA'S Project Managers are experienced litigation support professionals who work closely with you to ensure a smooth production process and a quality work product.

Document Scanning
Document Scanning is the process of creating electronic files from a paper original.  Hardware scanners are used to create a representative bitmapped image of the original document page that are typically stored in TIFF or PDF format.

Optical Character Recognition
Optical character recognition, more commonly referred to as OCR, is an electronic translation of images of handwritten, typewritten, or printed text into searchable, or editable, text. While perfect translation would require human intervention, high-quality images can produce up to 95% to 99% accuracy. Documents produced by a laser printer with standard fonts on white paper would likely produce high-quality images when scanned.

Coding
Coding is the process whereby an individual examines an image of a document and populates the fields of the case database. For example, document date, document type, Bates number, document description, to whom, from whom, etc.

Blowback
In the civil litigation discovery process, documents are often produced between parties on CD or DVD because the cost of production and delivery of documents on disk is so much less than production and delivery of paper. When these documents are printed, or returned to paper form, it's called "blowback".

Trial Graphics
PROTEGGA can create animation, diagrams, visuals, or other persuasive graphics used by lawyers to help explain complex technology, issues, or situations to jury members during a trial.

Audio/Video Conversion
This service may include converting analog to digital audio, enhancing the sound quality, removing noise, creating a video montage of evidence, extracting relevant portions of video, etc.

Our clients are increasingly seeing the benefits of PROTEGGA'S Litigation Support Services.
